These are some of my favorite books about prayer. This collection of books will help you grow, learn and connect with God in new ways in your prayer life!

Daily Prayer Guides

The Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie Omartian

This 31-day journey walks with you through what it means to be a woman of God. Exploring the most foundational aspects of our faith, Omartian shows us how to connect with God through stories, daily prayers and scriptures.

This book helped me go back an shore up some weak areas in my faith foundation as a woman of God.

The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian

This experience focuses specifically on prayer for wives, offering encouragement, hope and written prayers to help you focus and grow in your prayer life. The companion The Power of a Praying Husband would be a great couples book experience.

Just the push I needed to be intentional about praying for my husband and our marriage!

The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian

A treasured resource for all parents, this book will give you 31 days of intentional prayers for your children. Every parent will get help in praying for their children with focus and practical help.

This helped me go from praying my kids would have a good sleep or a great day to something intentional for who they are as children of God.

The 28-Day Prayer Journey by Chrystal Evans Hurst

Hurst offers real, practical help for weaving prayer through your day without being overwhelming. With morning, afternoon, and evening prayers as well as daily themes, you will develop a prayer habit that can last forever.

I love how this book challenged me to pray with purpose three times every day.

Learning About Prayer

Prayer by Timothy Keller

Develop an understanding of what prayer is, it’s purpose and how to use it in your life. Keller will draw you in to a deeper relationship with God in this book as you learn more about how to be intimate with God.

Keller does an exceptional job at inspiring and teaching in a way that helps me grow.

The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson

Focused on spiritual breakthrough, The Circle Maker encourages us to go deep, be clear and pray with persistence, fully believing God will answer His people. This book helps you focus and step outside of your prayer comfort zone to something amazing.

Praying brave isn’t something I’ve been good at, especially when it comes to my dreams and fears. This book helps move into those places with purpose.

Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

The most recommended book I have seen on prayer, Fervent was inspired by the popular movie, War Room. Shirer reminds us that prayer is our weapon and helps us focus our prayers so they have strategy and impact in our lives everyday.

Reminding me of the power of prayer, and my responsibility to use it effectively, this book offers real help along the way.

Dangerous Prayers by Craig Groeschel

If you’re ready for something new and powerful in your prayer life, Groeschel offers us this guide. Go deeper, pray bolder, and see God move in ways you never imagined as you pray Dangerous Prayers.

Encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone, Groeschel offers hope for God to move in BIG ways.

Prayers

Every Moment Holy by Douglas McKelvey

A beautifully bound collection of liturgies and prayers, this book offers words for when you don’t have them. With prayers to read for occasions to ordinary days and everything in between, it offers a lovely way to connect with God.

I love the simplicity and poetry of this collection. It reminds me of how I would pray the Psalms.
